Amvac acquires OHP

|

American Vanguard Corp.’s wholly owned subsidiary Amvac Chemical Corp. will acquire OHP, a supplier of pesticides for the greenhouse and nursery markets. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close Oct. 2., were not disclosed.

“We are extremely excited to have OHP become a significant part of Amvac’s noncrop business,” Amvac COO Bob Trogele said. “The leading position that OHP has built will be a great complement to our growing turf, ornamental and pest control business.”

OHP generates approximately $20 million-$25 million per year. The acquisition is expected to increase AMVAC’s noncrop business by approximately 50 percent.

OHP will maintain the OHP name and brands, and the business will remain under the leadership of General Manager Dan Stahl. The OHP team will continue to sell OHP’s existing portfolio and service its current and future customers.

“We are very pleased to join Amvac. The cultural fit, resources and business development approach of Amvac will create tremendous opportunities for growth,” Stahl said. “I am truly excited to be a part of the Amvac leadership team and look forward to continuing to grow the OHP business.”
