Weathermatic offers free smart controllers for SmartLink purchase

and |

DALLAS — Weathermatic has chosen Smart Irrigation Month to launch a new promotion at FreeControllers.com that will provide two free SmartLine Controllers for every SmartLink purchase now through Sept. 30, 2012.

SmartLink is the intelligent, affordable, web-based landscape irrigation solution that allows landscape contractors to manage all their sites from any computer or mobile device and a simple internet connection. This technology is already saving the world’s leading contractors thousands of dollars in labor and fuel for trips to adjust controllers, the company says. It also allows property owners to get real-time visibility to the dramatic water savings from SmartLine.

Weathermatic is partnering with its SmartLink Authorized Distributors to give away two SmartLine SL1600 controllers for every SmartLink Aircard and Service Plan purchased.  Offer details and redemption instructions are available at freecontrollers.com.  The promotion runs through Sept. 30, 2012.

“We want our customers to know how easy and affordable it can be to irrigate from anywhere with SmartLink,” says Mike Mason, CEO of Weathermatic. “We believe that if they use this technology on just a few of their sites, they’ll never go back to making trips to manually adjust controllers. So, we put together this promotion to help them try out affordable web-based control while they are replacing dumb timers at no cost.  This is a bold commitment for us to demonstrate how deeply we believe in the value of SmartLink for our customers.”

Increasingly, even former buyers of traditional central control systems are switching to SmartLink due to its ease of use, mobile accessibility and affordability.

“I have been in the industry for 26 years, and one of the original testers of Valcon back in 1994.  I was skeptical about a product that could be better,” says Travis Sales at the City of Mesquite. “I installed four SmartLink Aircards in under 20 minutes, and was operational within 5 minutes of logging-on through SmartLink Network. I immediately drove down a mile of medians operating every controller via my Android Smart Phone. At that point, I was sold.”

Weathermatic donates $1 per month per SmartLink connection to drill clean water wells in under-developed countries as part of its Save Water, Give Life cause.  The company expects to fund several wells in Latin America over the next few months, and is taking trips with customers to drill the wells in Spring 2013.
