Project EverGreen is inviting individuals and teams nationwide to register for the 2026 You Move, We Mow Challenge, taking place June 21-27 during GreenCare for Troops Awareness Month.

This national fundraiser turns everyday movement into meaningful support, providing free lawn and landscape services for military families with a deployed loved one.

Participants can commit to 20,000 steps in recognition of 20 years of GreenCare for Troops service. Each step helps ease the burden at home for military families, ensuring their outdoor spaces remain safe, healthy and cared for at no cost.

Where movement meets mission

When a service member deploys, life at home does not slow down. Lawn care can quickly become one more responsibility for already stressed military families, turning a routine task into an overwhelming burden.

GreenCare for Troops makes a difference, and You Move, We Mow turns everyday activity into real-world impact, as participants walk, run, bike, hike or even mow the lawn to raise funds and awareness for military families nationwide.

Every step and dollar raised helps:

  • Expand services to more military families in need
  • Strengthen a growing national network of volunteer lawn and landscape professionals
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality care for outdoor spaces families rely on every day

“Every step taken in this challenge helps ease the load for a military family at home,” said Ki Matsko, program manager for GreenCare for Troops. “It’s a simple act with a meaningful outcome turning movement into measurable support.”

Why participate

You Move, We Mow offers the opportunity to move with purpose:

  • Support military families who sacrifice alongside those who serve
  • Promote healthier lifestyles through activity and movement
  • Advance the mission of creating greener, healthier and cooler communities

Participants are encouraged to involve coworkers, friends and family members, making the cause both a personal and team effort.

How to register

“Our team loved combining movement with purpose. It’s a powerful way to stay active while supporting military families who give so much,” said Beth Berry,  Advanced Turf Solutions, Project EverGreen board president.

“Participating is a small but meaningful way to recognize the sacrifices made by military members and their families,” Sarah Spatola, Turfgrass Producers of Florida, Project EverGreen board vice president.
