ASIC to honor Daryl Green, Brian Vinchesi

The American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) is bestowing two prestigious awards at its annual conference April 23-25 in Seattle.

Daryl Green will be awarded the 2017 Sam Tobey Lifetime Achievement Award, and Brian Vinchesi will receive the 2017 Roy Williams Memorial Award.

The Sam Tobey Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual or individuals whose long-term support of ASIC’s principles and whose efforts to promote the goals of ASIC are deserving of special recognition by his or her peers.

This year’s winner, Daryl Green, has served on ASIC SoCal Boards of Directors and chaired numerous fund raisers and technical meetings. Additionally, Green is a five-time recipient of the SoCal chapter Member of the Year Award.

Green is the founder of Green Product Sales, a product representation and technical resources company that focuses on water related products designed for all aspects of the irrigation trade.

Prior to forming Green Product Sales, Green worked as district manager for United Green Tech, and was the landscape and irrigation coordinator for the planned community of Cota De Caza. A graduate of California Polytechnic State University, he holds a degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape contracting.

“It’s four simple words: Daryl loves this industry,” said Steve Hohl, owner of Water Concern and past president of ASIC. “He was the first person to greet me into the industry. Whether it’s the latest technology, a new design technique, a recent ordinance revision, a new bottle of wine, Western Outdoor News fishing stats, or the latest college football news, Daryl relates to everything through everyone.”

Named after an ASIC founder and first ASIC President, the Roy Williams Memorial Award is given for significant contributions to the irrigation industry by an individual, organization or business. It is not an annual accolade; it’s awarded as ASIC deems appropriate.
