Hunter Industries and Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply are expanding their sprinkler recycling program to select Colorado locations.
“Upgrading irrigation systems with higher-efficiency products is an easy way to make a big impact in our dry climate,” said Jodi Johnson, conservation specialist at Denver Water. “Now, our customers can take their efforts to reduce waste even further by disposing of inefficient irrigation heads in a sustainable way through the Sprinkler Recycling Program.”
All plastic Hunter rotors and spray head sprinklers will be collected, except for those with stainless steel sleeves. Reusable materials from the collected sprinklers will be reclaimed and used by Hunter to manufacture new products.
“We’re excited to be able to expand this program to Colorado to extend the efforts to reduce waste and create a more sustainable irrigation industry,” said Warren Gorowitz, Ewing’s vice president of sustainability.
This recycling program is being offered at select Ewing locations through Dec. 31, with hopes to expand it in the future.
“Recycling Hunter product is one step in the greater movement,” said Bryce Carnehl, corporate social responsibility manager at Hunter. “This partnership helps us decrease our ecological footprint while growing the landscape industry.”
