The American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) created a scholarship in memoriam of past president Ivy Munion. Munion died May 23 after a long battle with cancer. She was very passionate about ASIC and the profession of irrigation consulting.
The ASIC Ivy Munion Memorial Scholarship recipient will be a student, currently enrolled in a two or four year college with an emphasis on irrigation.
ASIC is asking for donations to help achieve its goal to raise $25,000 as an endowment to create an annual $1,000 scholarship.
Contributions will be administered through the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) Foundation and the scholarship will be presented by an ASIC representative at the NALP National Collegiate Landscape Competition each spring.
Contributions may be made through PayPal or by check made payable to ASIC Scholarship Fund and mailed to ASIC at 4700 S. Hagadorn Road, Suite 195D, East Lansing, Mich., 48823.
