People on the Move: Colton named president of Monarch construction; more from Honda, Hyundai, Profile, Target Specialty

Monarch Landscape Holdings, a private-equity backed family of landscape companies, welcomed Jeffrey Colton as president of the company’s construction division. Prior to joining Monarch, he served as senior vice president and regional manager of ValleyCrest in Northern California. Since 1994, Colton built notable landscape projects in his region, including AT&T Park and Letterman Digital and New Media Arts Center in San Francisco and Facebook’s campus in Menlo Park, Calif.

The Toro Co.’s board of directors elected Richard Olson to president and CEO, effective Nov. 1. Olson previously served as president and COO since September 2015 and was elected to the board in January. He has served in many roles, including manager of advanced manufacturing, commercial engineering program manager, plant operations director and vice president of Exmark. He joined Toro in 1977. He has a bachelor’s in industrial technology from Iowa State and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Honda Motor Co. named Kathy Graham southeast region communications manager. Graham brings to the job a diverse background with experience in product, corporate and internal communications. She gained 15 years of experience while working for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and 20 major automotive product launches, full-line model previews, environmental and regulatory issues, sales, dealer network and dealer relations, employee communications, reputation management and media events.

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas promoted Scott Rainwater to national service manager. Prior to his promotion, Rainwater spent three years on the Hyundai service team. He also spent time as a dealer field service technician for a variety of construction equipment OEMs and worked as a dealer service manager in the Atlanta market for 10 years.

Profile Products promoted Jim Tanner, who will serve in the dual role of president and COO. Tanner takes over for John Schoch, who remains the company’s CEO. Tanner has held the COO position since 2013 and previously worked for the company for 18 years. He is a past board member of the Sorptive Minerals Institute and a member of the International Erosion Control Association, the Sports Turf Managers Association and Vistage International. He received a bachelor’s in business from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Target Specialty Products, a wholesale distributor of specialty agricultural chemicals, added Rob Maloy as turf and ornamental sales representative. Previously, Maloy spent more than 15 years in golf course maintenance, including his former position as Assistant Superintendent at the Country Club of Fairfax in Fairfax, Va.
