Freeze-tolerant-ballvalve.net released its Freeze Tolerant Ball Valves, which help users avoid changing out a ball valve because it was not drained properly for the winter.

The ball valves feature a freeze plug, which is attached to the side wall of the valve. The plug acts as a barrier from freezing weather, protecting the valve from expanding ice and relieving the pressure.

In addition, the main body of the valve was created with double the thickness of a conventional valve, the company says, which allows the freeze plug to meet the same operating pressure ratings of the valve. According to the company, the freeze plugs were designed to withstand a burst pressure of 1500 psi.
