IA slates 3 webinar series for 2015

irrigation_association_logoThe Irrigation Association (IA) scheduled out three webinar series for 2015, targeting turf/landscape and agriculture segments. Details for each are as follows.

Bringing Water to Life

Returning for free for a third year, the Bringing Water to Life series will address issues that affect the agricultural and landscape segments of the irrigation industry. Attendees can earn one continuing education unit (CEU) for each webinar, scheduled as follows.

  • “Turf & Landscape Irrigation Policy During the 2014 Drought,” held April 9 at 2 p.m. ET (Turf/Landscape);
  • “The Future of Irrigated Agriculture in the Colorado River Basin,” held May 7, at 2 p.m. ET (Agriculture);
  • “How WaterSense Is Enhancing Efficient Irrigation Technologies & Services,” held
 July 9 at 2 p.m. ET (Turf/Landscape);
  • “The Future of Groundwater Policy for Agricultural Irrigation,” held Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. ET (Agriculture); and
  • “How Policy Affects Sustainable Landscape Irrigation,” held Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. ET (Turf/Landscape).

Point of Connection

The Point of Connection series focuses on the business of landscape irrigation contracting. Presented by IA’s Contractor Common Interest Group and comprising two turf/landscape webinars, the webinars also are free to attend. Attendees can earn 0.25 CEUs for each, which include “Building Your Next Generation Workforce,” held March 20 at 2 p.m. ET and “Strategic Growth Through Operations,” held April 17 at 2 p.m. ET.

Knowledge Network

The Knowledge Network series features technical practices to help irrigation professionals on the job. Attendees earn one CEU for each $25 webinar, scheduled as follows.

  • “ET & Plant Factors: Dealing With Drought & Deficit Irrigation,” with speaker Brent Mecham, CAIS, CIC, CID, CLWM, of the IA on March 25 at 2 p.m. ET (Turf/Landscape);
  • “Keeping Water on Target: Impacts on Uniformity & Efficiency,” also with Mecham on Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. ET (Turf/Landscape); and
  • “Electrical Codes & Wire Connections,” with speaker Vince Nolletti of Paige Electric Co. on Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. ET (Agriculture & Turf/Landscape).
