Discounted, early-bird registration for the 2014 Irrigation Show & Education Conference is available through Oct. 17.
Held Nov. 17 to 21 in Phoenix, the 2014 Irrigation Show brings back a heavy emphasis on education this year.
Education sessions
Attendees can earn continuing education units toward Irrigation Association (IA) certifications for each education session they attend. There are 25 half-, full- and two-day classes, 10 one-hour seminars and 30 short technical sessions.
Seminars and technical sessions are free with the purchase of a full registration; education classes are priced separately and are not included in the full registration fee. Each class registration includes a free exhibits-only pass, including exhibits, the new product contest, show floor presentations and general session.
Point of Connection
The IA is bringing back its Point of Connection series this year, too. Sessions are open to all attendees and include the Point of Connection Turf Talk, hosted by the IA Contractor Common Interest Group; and Point of Connection Contractor Workshop, with Brad Groff of River Valley Landscapes giving two presentations: “Go Big or Stay Small: Which is the Best for Your Business” and “Employment Decisions: How to Build Your Team.”
Other Point of Connection presentations, held backstage on the show floor, include:
- “State of the Green Industry;”
- “Plant Something! Green Industry Marketing & Partnerships;”
- “Partnering With Water Purveyors;” and
- “Avoiding Buried Utilities When Installing & Maintaining Irrigation System.”
Certification
In addition, the IA Select Certified program is looped into the show, with all seven exams offered on location in Phoenix. Certification exams require advance registration and a separate fee; exam registrations include a free exhibits-only pass, including exhibits, the new product contest, show floor presentations and general session.
