The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) bestowed an accreditation status to Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Additionally, Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Ore. and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., earned their reaccreditation status.
PLANET’s industry accreditation certifies that schools with four-year Bachelor of Science and two-year Associate of Science degree programs meet or exceed industry standards for landscape industry and horticulture curriculums. The accreditation program also provides guidance to create and/or improve program curriculum. It is the only nationally recognized endorsement offered to colleges and universities with landscape/horticulture curriculum.
Twenty-eight institutions of higher learning now have programs that are PLANET accredited.
