
Ruppert Landscape, of Laytonsville, Md., promoted Doug Halsey and Fred Key to the position of regional vice president for the company’s northern and southern regions, respectively.
Overseeing the northern region, Halsey will be responsible for the company’s branches in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Pennsylvania.
“Doug is a strong leader and has excelled at developing a great team of branch managers under him,” said Phil Key, president. “He has played an integral role in helping our division develop solid, long-term customer relationships, and he will undoubtedly continue to help us with our strategic vision and with imparting the Ruppert culture and values throughout our organization.”
With more than 24 years of industry experience, Halsey has been with Ruppert for more than 18 years serving in a slew of positions including crewman, field manager, area manager and branch manager. In 2004, he received one of the company’s top honors, the Clyde Vadner Merit Award, which is presented to an employee who has demonstrated consistent hard work and dedication leading to exceptional contributions to the organization.

Fred Key will be responsible for the company’s branches in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.
“Fred has a steadfast commitment to self- improvement and has always lead by example,” Phil Key said. “He has a real passion for problem-solving and is willing to have the tough conversations that help to bring about change within our organization. In his new role, he will continue to play a key role in disseminating the company’s values and culture and will have an ongoing impact on division’s strategic direction as we continue to grow.”
Fred Key brings with him more than 20 years of industry experience and has been with Ruppert for 12 years, serving as crewman, foreman, area manager, controller, landscape construction production manager, division administrator, landscape management branch manager and region manager. In 2009, he also received the Clyde Vadner Merit Award.
