Wiedenmann North America, a manufacturer of turfgrass management equipment that has focused mainly on golf and sports turf applications, is entering the professional landscape market with its STrac 720 multipurpose walk-behind power tool.

“We believe the time is right for the landscape industry. We have a variety of products coming online designed to improve efficiencies and reduce the manpower required to run a professional lawn care firm. Our goal is to provide the industry with equipment and tools that will help landscapers succeed,” said Will Wolverteron, president of Wiedenmann North America, based in Savannah, Ga.

The first product in the company’s line of turfgrass management equipment to be repositioned is the STrac 720 power tool that can be a sod cutter, fraze mower, aerifier, seeder or verticutter. The company promotes the STrac 720 as an essential tool for any lawn care crew’s equipment lineup. The STrac 720 power tool features interchangeable heads for different landscaping tasks, much like a power drill uses removable heads for drilling or screwing. Those tasks include sod cutting, fraise mowing, verticutting, aerifying, sand injection, high-speed coring and seeding. Additional interchangeable heads are being developed for the STrac 720 to support a wider range of agronomic practices.

“We think landscapers will appreciate the STrac 720’s small footprint that maneuvers through gates and accesses small yards. It’s easy to use with little training required. And it expands a lawn care firm’s capacity to offer more services that might be too labor-intensive without it. Consider, for example, how long it takes to manually strip and remove old sod before installing new sod. Using the STrac with fraise mower and sod cutter attachments, your crew could dramatically reduce the time needed to perform these tasks. That’s a savings of manhours and manpower, not to mention the ability to upsell a new service to customers,” said Wolverton.

Maneuverable in tight spaces

Measuring just 26 inches wide, the STrac 720 is compact and nimble, offering a tight turning radius that makes it ideal for any yard while also saving space on the truck. One or both of the side tires can be moved to the front of the machine to maneuver it closer to flowerbeds and sidewalks, around trees, through gates or into small yards.

Save money and man hours

The reasonably priced STrac 720 significantly reduces the time needed to cut and remove sod, and when paired with the optional fraise mower head, sod removal becomes even faster.

Multi-purpose power tool

With its interchangeable heads, the STrac 720 enables landscape crews to quickly switch between tasks such as sod cutting, fraise mowing, seeding, verticutting, sand injection, and other agronomic practices, expanding their capabilities and allowing them to offer a wider range of services to customers with just one machine and a selection of heads.

Award-winning

Wiedenmann’s STrac 720 was recently recognized for its innovation in turf management technology, receiving the 2025 Innovative Award from the Sports Field Management Association (SFMA).

Wiedenmann’s full line of equipment is available through most John Deere golf and turf dealers and other distributors throughout the United States and North America. To schedule a demo, visit the Wiedenmann website to find a dealer near you.
