As milestones go, this is a big one — both literally and figuratively.
For the first time ever, the combined revenues of the landscape and lawn care companies represented on the LM150 list have topped the $20 billion threshold. The total of $21,101,241,223 in 2024 represents an increase of nearly 14 percent over last year’s figure of $18,592,575,311 … which was up 14 percent compared to the totals in 2022 … which increased almost 14 percent from what was reported in 2021 … well, you get the picture.
The top four spots in this year’s LM150 rankings — which are brought to you by Aspire Software, John Deere and Weathermatic — remain unchanged from 2023, with a familiar face in the No. 1 spot. BrightView Holdings, based in Blue Bell, Pa., topped the list for the 10th consecutive year, reporting revenue of $2.77 billion.
The Davey Tree Expert Co. out of Kent, Ohio, remained at No. 2 with revenues of $1.8 billion, and TruGreen, headquartered in Memphis, stayed at No. 3 with revenues of $1.7 billion. Bunnell, Fla.-based Yellowstone Landscape stayed in the fourth spot and enjoyed the biggest revenue bump among the top four; its total of $719 million was a 24-percent increase over 2023.
There was some slight movement in the remainder of the LM150’s top 10, most notably from the Mariani Premier Group out of Lake Bluff, Ill., which jumped from No. 7 last year to No. 5 this year with revenues of $653 million, an annual increase of 42 percent.

The rest of the top 10 had HeartLand from Kansas City, Mo., at No. 6 with revenues of $583 million; Bartlett Tree Experts, based in Stamford, Conn., at No. 7 with revenues of $526 million; Monarch Landscape Cos., based in Los Angeles, returned to the LM150 list at No. 8 with revenues of $500 million; SavATree from Bedford Hills, N.Y., at No. 9 with $479 million in revenues; and Gothic Landscape from Valencia, Calif., checking in at No. 10 with $442 million in revenues.
And in just another sign of the health of the industry, 35 companies reported revenue growth of 20 percent or more in 2024, including three who had growth numbers over 100 percent — No. 91 Verde Property Services, based in San Diego (250 percent); No. 148 Greenshade Trees from Oklahoma City (150 percent); and No. 134 Growing Seasons Landscaping, headquartered in Canonsburg, Pa. (117 percent).
How we calculate our figures
LM seeks submissions from landscape companies in the magazine, on LandscapeManagement.net, via email and over the phone from January through May. Companies submit their details through a standardized form. LM editors compile the results and, where applicable, remove nontypical green industry revenue sources from the totals. For example, we omit revenue from pest and janitorial services.
We estimate revenue for firms that didn’t provide data if they participated in last year’s list and reported a projected 2024 revenue figure.
The LM150 information is self-reported unless otherwise noted. Some companies do not break out individual service lines, so we can’t be sure what revenue is specific to typical green industry services. Several firms opt not to participate in the list, there are others we are unaware of, and some revenues may overlap due to subcontracting agreements.
