The winners are developing innovative products and solutions that are set to revolutionize the irrigation industry and lead to wise water use and improved irrigation efficiency.

The Irrigation Association announced the winners of the 2024 Pitch Competition and the 2024 New Product Contest. The winners are developing innovative products and solutions that are set to revolutionize the irrigation industry and lead to wise water use and improved irrigation efficiency.

The 2024 Pitch Competition winners include:

  • Krah USA LLC: Krah USA manufactures large diameter HDPE pipe with profile wall and solid wall options for pressure and gravity flow applications with up to a 196-inch inside diameter.
  • Wirevirus: Wirevirus is a device that allows two valves to operate individually with just one good field wire, offering a cost-effective solution reducing material waste, labor and installation time, while eliminating the need for additional wiring.

The competition featured eight irrigation startup companies. The judges evaluated winners based on the quality of their presentation, the product, market need and economic feasibility. Official judging was conducted live on the exhibit floor on Nov. 6 during the 2024 Irrigation Show and Education Week. The winners were announced Nov. 7 during the IA General Session.

The 2024 New Product Contest winners include:

  • The TWIG-V Plus by Nelson Irrigation: This product integrates a 12 VDC latching solenoid with Twig-V Wireless 900 MHz radio network compatibility, providing a solar-powered, wireless solution with no need for wire connections between the solenoid and RTU.
  • Moasure 2 PRO by Moasure: This product is the second generation of the motion-based measuring device and utilizes high-performing sensors to capture X, Y and Z data as it moves, simultaneously measuring and drawing complex and irregular job sites and automatically calculating perimeter, area, elevation and volume.
  • MP Rotator MP-820 by Hunter Industries: This product uses multiple rotating streams to apply water slowly and consistently across arc and radius patterns, expanding application rates across multiple pressures, maximizing flow potential while maintaining uniform coverage at half the precipitation rate of traditional spray nozzles.
  • Runa RP-32-Directional Path Light by FX Luminaire: The product features an easily adjustable, rotating head designed to illuminate pathways precisely where light is needed most, allowing contractors to elevate any lighting project and bring precise illumination.

Winners were chosen based on innovation, design quality, increased water/resource-use efficiency, ease of use and product life expectancy. Official judging was conducted during the 2024 Irrigation Show and Education Week in Long Beach, Calif. Winners were announced Nov. 7 during the IA General Session.
