SJ: Hey everybody. It’s Seth Jones with Landscape Management magazine. I’m at Equip Expo 2024 and I’m being joined by John Perry, founder of Green County Fertilizer. John, how’s it going?
JP: It’s going fantastic. It’s another great show.
SJ: Okay, well, thanks for taking some time to talk with me today. You guys got something new that I think our readers need to know about. Will you talk to me about what you guys are celebrating on the show here?
JP: So one of the big things that we’re excited about that we launched, actually this year, and it’s getting bigger for 2025 is our compost granular wetting agent, which us wading into the granular market, is kind of a big deal. We’ve been a liquid producer forever. This is a unique copolymer, co-block polymer that we have sparged on to a compost that’s based on yard waste, no poop, no smell. So you can actually get this out and conserve water on lawns, fix dry spots, offer up a service where you’re adding a compost that’s also going to help hold additional water. It’s a pretty big win. And we also do this in a liquid as well. So you have more options as an operator to really make a difference on lawns.
SJ: How did you decide to get go this route? Was it custom demand type deal?
JP: No, it was purely observational. So I had some experience with some of the compost before, and I was watching how it was really holding moisture, and then started looking at what other elements we could put to that it would help release further, get water deeper into the ground. And it just kind of started to come together.
SJ: Okay, great. Well, we’re excited for you guys to get this out and this out and spread the word. Everybody, thanks for coming and checking this in with us at Equip Expo 2024. I’m Seth, that’s JP, thanks for watching Landscape Management TV.
