What I’m Reading Wednesday: Any business regrets?

|

Work is well underway for the 2014 LM150 list, to be published in June. It’s our annual report of the industry’s largest companies, ranked by annual revenue. Our theme for this year’s coverage is “lessons learned,” and we’re identifying those lessons by asking CEOs on the list, “Knowing what you know now, what what would you do differently when you started in the Green Industry?”

With that in mind, you’ll understand why I was interested to read the following blog post and watch its associated video.

7 Landscape Leaders Answer What They Would Do Differently
The Harvest Blog
Consultants Bill Arman and Ed Laflamme posed the question, “If you had it to do over again, what would you do differently?” to seven leaders in the landscape and lawn care industry. The insights are varied, including getting involved in trade organizations earlier, “not a whole lot,” better planning for recessions and much more.

Jerry Grossi, president of Arbor-Lawn and past president of the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), said, “I think what you’re asking me is, ‘Do I have any regrets?'” Yes, Jerry, that’s exactly what we want to know! You’ll have to watch for his response.
