The Weeping Higan Cherry tree grows up to 30 ft. tall with a limb spread up to 25 ft. in a weeping habit.
In spring, the tree puts on a show with light pink, 1-in. flowers covering the branches. Its 2- to 4-in. oblong green leaves turn yellow in the fall and then drop to reveal the tree’s weeping branch structure in winter.
Weeping Higan cherry trees require full sun and prefer well-drained soils. They are attractive to a number of insect pests, including aphids, borers, spider mites and scales. They are also susceptible to leaf spot, black knot and powdery mildew. The trees are hardy in Zones 5A through 8B.
