For its fourth consecutive year, ValleyCrest Landscape Cos. was selected as one of top 125 best companies in the nation for training by Training magazine. The 2014 Training honorees were recognized at a black-tie gala awards event in San Diego.

ValleyCrest ranked No. 100 on the list and is the only landscape services firm ever recognized in the top 125.

The Training Top 125 is an annual ranking that honors organizations that offer outstanding employer-sponsored workforce training and development.

“Winning this award for the fourth year is a special achievement for us, because it speaks to our continued commitment to developing our people,” said Parke Kallenberg, VP of training. “Providing comprehensive training for our workforce is a long term strategy vital to our ability to attract and retain the best talent.”

Now in its 14th   year, the Training Top 125 ranking is based on a myriad of benchmarking statistics such as total training budget; percentage of payroll; number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs. The ranking is determined by assessments of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
