Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) appointed new officers and trustees during its annual business meeting July 30 in Philadelphia.
Former TPI President Bob Weerts of Blue Valley Sod, Winnebago, Minn., acknowledged the following newly appointed officers and elected trustees for 2014-2015:
- President Eddie Keeven, Jr., Emerald View Turf Farm, O’Fallon, Mo.;
- VP Will Nugent, Bethel Farms, Arcadia, Fla.; and
- Secretary/Treasurer Linda Bradley, Turf Mountain Sod, Hendersonville, N.C.
Hugh Dampney of Dampney’s Eco Turf, Parley Court Farm, Christchurch, U.K., and Hank Kerfoot of Modern Turf, Rembert, S.C., were appointed to three-year trusteeships.
In his closing remarks of the meeting, Weerts recollected his tenure as president, thanking the board, his family and Executive Director Melanie Stanton.
“When I look at the list of my predecessors, I realize we have had some great people serve as president,” said Weerts, the 43rd person to hold the position. “I am both humbled and honored to be in their company.”
