The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) elected Jeremy Thorne to win its 2015 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Presented during the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, the award recognizes an entrepreneur under 30 years old who demonstrates spirit and initiative and serves as an example to students pursuing careers in the landscape industry.
Thorne graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2013 with two degrees in landscape/horticulture technology. He is a certified pesticide applicator and serves as a Green Industry Conference Student Ambassador for NALP. Thorne also volunteers with the National Collegiate Landscape Competition and Renewal & Remembrance.
In spring of 2015, he will open a landscape enhancement company called ThorneCare Landscape Solutions.
“With all of my experience in landscaping and infrastructure, a college degree and work ethic, I feel there is no better time than now to continue my dream of owning and operating a successful landscape company,” Thorne said.
