For the sixth year in a row, professionals from The Grounds Guys will band together to donate services to local charities during WeCare Week.
The Grounds Guys established the service project initiative in 2011 in remembrance of Monika Woerlen and her family, a sibling of one of the original The Grounds Guys founders, who died in a house fire. Today, the event has grown into WeCare Week and is observed during the first week of November by The Dwyer Group, parent company of The Grounds Guys.
Lawn care, cleaning of landscapes and service equipment, and window washing are among the services provided during WeCare Week.
At The Grounds Guys in central Connecticut, Ken Henrikson’s team will offer 20 neighborhood lawn services in exchange for a donation of a full turkey dinner. The dinners will be donated to a local food pantry in Southington, Conn., to provide Thanksgiving meals to those in need. Last year, The Grounds Guys Central Connecticut donated more than 40 dinners. The team also donated pizzas to local fire houses on Sept. 11 and raised funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October, with the goal of raising $2,500.
