Textron Specialized Vehicles, a Textron company, launched the Cushman Hauler XL utility vehicle, a new addition to the Hauler lineup designed to meet the demand for more hauling capacity with a 68.5-inch-long aluminum flat bed and 1,600-pound payload. The Hauler XL provides the same features as the rest of the lineup, including a truck-inspired design, functional dash and purpose-built accessories.
“The Hauler XL, whether gas- or lithium-powered, is an industry leader in bed size, vehicle rating and bed load capacity,” says Adam Harris, vice president and general manager of Cushman and E-Z-GO at Textron Specialized Vehicles, which designs and manufactures Cushman vehicles. “With our five-year battery warranty and patented E-brake technology, it’s built for the most difficult jobs.”
The vehicle comes in two powertrain options: a fully electric ELiTE series model powered by Samsung SDI lithium-battery technology or a gas-powered model with a 13.5 hp gas engine. The ELiTE series included years of collaboration between Textron Specialized Vehicles and Samsung SDI to create a zero-maintenance battery for golf cars and utility vehicles. The Hauler XL ELiTE provides customers reduced maintenance, a five-year battery warranty, an automatic parking brake and street-legal capability in most jurisdictions.
The street-legal Hauler XL ELiTE is made to drive on roads with up to 35 mph speed limits at up to 25 mph by meeting the federally required FMVSS 500 and voluntary SAE J2358 standards. This gives customers a street-legal vehicle with one of the highest payloads on the market.
