SIMA shares new vision, mission

|

As part of its updated strategic plan, the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) has refined its mission, vision and core values, which the association said will help the staff and board support its members and the industry.

The changes are a result of planning meetings that took place with the 14-member board and SIMA staff in late 2015 and early 2016.

“The association has grown significantly, and the board and staff have struggled with how to prioritize the many issues facing our members and focus on the areas where we could have a true and lasting impact,” said Board Vice Chair Justin Gamester, CSP. “We hope that these new tools will take all of us into the future with confidence and a realistic plan for continued success.”

Going forward, SIMA’s direction and product offerings will be shaped by the following:

  • Mission: Empowering snow and ice management for success;
  • Vision: We fight for the industry to be one of the most valued professions in the world, ensuring that snow and ice management services are never taken for granted; and
  • Core values: sustainability, innovation, service, quality, trust and passion.

SIMA officials plan to use these tenets to focus on operational best practices, consumer outreach, credentials, research and education moving forward.
