The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) held its 18th annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Schaumburg, Ill., June 24-27. The four-day event featured a trade show, speakers, educational sessions and networking events for the snow and ice industry. The 2015 Snow & Ice Industry Awards were presented during the Awards & Recognition Night on June 25.
Recipients of awards fill out applications or are nominated, and a panel of industry judges chooses the winners. Here are the 2015 Awards winners:
- Excellence in Business—About Time Snow (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) and Ippolito Snow Services (Boston);
- Employee of the Year—Katie Raymond of Case Snow Management (Attleboro Falls, Mass.);
- Volunteer of the Year—Debora Babin Katz of TrucBrush (S. Easton, Mass.);
- Top Recruiter—Paul Vanderzon, ASM of Metal Pless (Plessisville, Que.);
- Alan Steiman Scholarship—Adam Hunter of A&J Lawn and Landscape (St. Louis, Mo.);
- Snow Industry Commitment Award—Douglas Dynamics (Milwaukee);
- Environmental Leader of the Year—BSR Services (St. Louis); and
- Philanthropic Leadership Award—David Dudash of Green Estates (Mayfield Village, Ohio).
