Reinders held its 22nd Green Industry Conference March 11-12 at the Waukesha Expo Center in Milwaukee.

The conference theme—“Celebrating Our Past with Our Eyes on the Future”—aligned with Reinders’ 150th anniversary celebration. Banners depicting significant events in the company’s history were hanging in the arena show hall, and each morning began with a video presentation showing how the company expanded from its roots in 1866.

As a tradition at every Reinders show, hot, homemade donuts also were offered this year, with more than 5,000 of served over the two days. Attendees also competed for the highest score at the Skee-Ball Entertainment Zone.

Amid the light fun, more than 35 seminars were offered and six different educational tracts ran simultaneously targeting golf course superintendents, landscape contractors, lawn care operators, sports turf managers, equipment mechanics and irrigation contractors.

Among many other education sessions, Matt Hollingsworth of NDS covered how adding drainage projects to a service list can enhance contractors’ bottom lines; Dave Louttit of The Andersons gave a seminar about how Black Gypsum can help resolve salt damage in turf and ornamental landscapes caused by ice control products applied this winter; Ed Beaulieu of Aquascape covered the topic of fountainscaping; and Steve Drake of SCD Group shared how to use social media to drive more traffic to websites.
