The Herring Group opened registration for participation in its 2024 landscape industry benchmark report. This comprehensive report is a resource for landscape companies across the U.S. and Canada, allowing business owners to anonymously compare their company’s performance to peers in the industry.
The Herring Group benchmark report compiles real data from more than 140 landscape companies to provide a thorough analysis of financial performance, from top-line revenue to bottom-line profit. Companies have the opportunity to anonymously compare their metrics with similarly sized peers, identify strengths and discover areas for improvement.
Because of the format of the report, participants can choose their peers based on size, revenue mix and profitability. This year, smart filters are available within the report to make finding comparable companies easier.
The report originated in 2014 as a tool for The Herring Group’s financial consulting clients but has since expanded to include any owners or leaders within the landscape industry who want to compare their company data on an industry level. In 2023, 144 companies participated, representing over 19,000 employees and $1.9 billion in total revenue.
Greg Herring, founder and CEO of The Herring Group, has become a repeat resource on financial data over the last decade of producing this report.

Registration is open through Nov. 1, 2024. Important dates include (all times listed are Central Time):

- Nov. 7, noon, data submission deadline for participants
- Dec. 5, 10 a.m., report release and live webinar
- Jan. 16, 2025, 10 a.m., high-performer webinar
