Rain Bird Services, part of Rain Bird International Inc.‘s Services Division, will host irrigation training courses at more than 20 locations across the country this summer in an effort to help new and experienced irrigation professionals enhance their skills.
Two core irrigation training programs focused on professional level irrigation training with no product or sales pitches will be offered. Rain Bird’s Factory Trained program will train professionals on Rain Bird products, whereas Rain Bird Academy will provide general, non-manufacturer-specific irrigation skills training.
“One of the hallmarks of Rain Bird Academy training is our Boot Camp,” said Tom Hornbacher, the company’s manager of training services. “The Boot Camp spans four-and-a-half days, offering much of what the new irrigation contractor will need to begin offering irrigation services. In addition to attending our Boot Camp, we also strongly recommend that contractors new to irrigation work closely with a local Rain Bird distributor to get the best possible start in the irrigation business.”
The company also aims to educate residential and light commercial irrigation contractors by offering five new courses that include Water Efficient Product Expert, Low Volume Technician, Drainage Technician, Decoder Installer and Residential Installer.
“These particular courses are designed to give contractors a competitive edge in the irrigation business,” said Robert Pfeil, marketing group manager for Rain Bird Services, “The content for each course includes the most up-to-date information available within the irrigation industry today.”
Those who attend Rain Bird’s training classes are eligible to earn continuing education units from the Irrigation Association, the United States Green Building Council’s LEED program, the Professional Landcare Network, the Landscape Architecture Continuing Educational System, Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and many state and local organizations.
