Returning for a second year, the Come Alive Outside Design Challenge tweaked its judging process this year, allowing the public to cast its votes online until Feb. 19.
The Design Challenge creates the opportunity for college, high school, elementary and preschool students to work together with landscape professionals to design and build engaging outdoor learning environments at schools and childcare facilities.
This year’s finalists include North Carolina State University and the Raleigh Boys Club; Brigham Young University-Idaho and Madison High School; and Oregon State University and Monroe High School.
Winners will be determined through a combination of scores from a professional judging panel and the results of a popular vote. The winning team will receive $1,000 to go toward the construction of their project.
