A program offered through the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) features marketing materials that can be used to promote sprinkler upgrades to clients.
The WaterSense program includes new tips and tools to educate consumers about the importance of maintaining irrigation systems to promote healthy landscapes and reduce water waste.
Marketing materials include sample postcards, sample bill stuffers with instructions and sample social media posts. EPA WaterSense partners can access the tools online.
The EPA also offers tips for homeowners and advises in an article titled “Take Spring Cleaning Outdoors and Spruce Up Your Sprinkler” in its The Water Sense Current Spring 2013 newsletter that a broken or missing sprinkler head “could waste as much as 25,000 gallons of water and more than $90 over a six-month irrigation season.”
Offering sprinkler spruce-up tips now is a good way to kick start Smart Irrigation Month promotions, according to the Irrigation Association. Recognized in July, Smart Irrigation Month is an Irrigation Association initiative designed to increase public awareness of the value of water-use efficiency, water-saving products, practices and services.
