Project EverGreen brought back its GreenCare for Troops You Move, We Mow challenge, a nationwide fundraiser supporting deployed military personnel by providing free lawn and landscape services for their families.

During GreenCare for Troops Awareness Month, participants are challenged to log 19,000 steps between June 22-28. Whether by walking, running, biking or hiking, it’s a simple yet impactful way to show appreciation for service members while promoting healthy, green spaces in our communities, according to the company.

Why Join the Challenge?

  • Support military families.
  • Promote a greener, healthier and cooler Earth.
  • Improve your own well-being while giving back.

“Behind every uniform is a family that serves alongside them,” says Ki Matsko, program manager for GreenCare for Troops. “By participating, you’re showing these families that their sacrifices are seen, valued, and never forgotten.”

How to Get Involved

“We took the top spot in last year’s inaugural You Move, We Mow challenge with Project EverGreen,” said Beth Berry, Advanced Turf Solutions. “Our team loved combining movement — whether walking, running, biking or hiking — with teamwork and a great cause. This initiative sparked an ongoing series of mobile meetings, keeping us active while supporting military families. We’re proud to back Project EverGreen and can’t wait to defend our title this year.”

“We can run, walk, bike, etc., at our free will because of the sacrifices of our military members and their families. Participating in the You Move, We Mow challenge is a small effort to recognize and show appreciation for those sacrifices while supporting and raising awareness of the GreenCare for Troops program,” said Sarah Spatola, Arborjet, Ecologel.

GreenCare for Troops is endorsed by the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
