Officials from the Mississippi Development Authority and the state legislature joined employees of Profile Products to commemorate 1 million consecutive hours without a lost-time accident at the company’s manufacturing facility in Blue Mountain, Miss. Profile Products is a supplier of soil modification, erosion control and plant establishment products and services for the landscape, golf and sports field industries.
The company reached the milestone on April 8, following a streak that began more than 11 years ago in March 2002. The Blue Mountain facility, under the ownership of Profile Products since 1986, has a history of safety awareness. To ensure its 45 employees remain up-to-date on safety procedures, the company holds biweekly safety meetings. Monthly safety tours are also conducted to check machines for deficiencies and to certify employees have safe access to equipment.
