HERNDON, VA.—The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) has released three new publications that help landscape companies run more profitable and safer businesses. They include Pricing for the Green Industry, Operating Cost Study for the Green Industry, and the Safety Benchmark Report. They are available online at LandcareNetworkStore.org.
Pricing for the Green Industry, in its third edition, is written by industry consultant Frank Ross. This popular publication features hands-on explanations, how-to examples and formats, and insight into how to deal with today’s competition. It includes information about packaging your prices, valid pricing methods, as well additional tools that companies need to price successfully.
The Operating Cost Study for the Green Industry report allows companies to compare their financial performance with other lawn and landscape companies in the same geographic area. More than 133 companies in the U.S. and from Canada contributed data to the report from their 2011 income statements, balance sheets, and operating costs. The report also contains information about industry trends.
The 2012 Safety Benchmark Report analyzes safety data from 2009 to 2011. It provides analysis of the safety practices of PLANET members, STARS safe company members, and other industry companies. Results are presented in tables and graphs, designed to provide a comprehensive guide for analyzing profitability as well as highlighting areas that need improvement.
