The Pool and Hot Tub Alliance is now accepting applications for its 2025 Greg Garrett Scholarship Award, aimed at supporting continuing education within the swimming pool, hot tub and spa industry. Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to professionals in the builder or service sectors who are current PHTA members.
Established in memory of industry veteran Greg Garrett, the award seeks to recognize individuals who demonstrate strong commitment to advancing their careers through technical training and industry certification. Scholarship funds can be applied toward PHTA and GENESIS programs, including the Certified Pool and Spa Maintenance Specialist (CMS) and the C201: GENESIS Construction School for Concrete Pools.
Garrett, whose 45-year legacy included leadership roles in the PHTA Recreational Water Quality and Air Quality Committee, Builders Council and Standards Committees, was a driving force for professional standards and education. He held the title of Industry Fellow, PHTA’s highest honor.
Dr. Joseph Laurino, president and CEO of Periodic Products, Inc., praised Garrett’s focus on industry education. Periodic Products is sponsoring one of the 2025 scholarship awards, continuing its support since the award’s inception.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, Aug. 8. Candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by fellow PHTA members via an online submission form available at here.
