Wright Manufacturing adds vice president of sales

Wright Manufacturing added Dennis Opalacz as the company’s new vice president of sales. Opalacz’s career spans several decades in the outdoor power equipment industry. The company said Opalacz is known for his exceptional leadership, strategic vision and the ability to develop strong and lasting partnerships with distributors and dealers.

Opalacz operated an outdoor power equipment dealership earlier in his career.

Opalacz will be available to meet industry professionals, partners and attendees at the upcoming Equip Exposition in Louisville, Ky., at indoor booth No. 3094.

Bartlett Tree Experts makes several moves

Bartlett Tree Experts, No. 5 on the 2023 LM150 list, promoted Rob Allen to division manager, overseeing the company’s operations in Virginia and Tennessee.

Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Virginia Tech and is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA), ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist (RCAS) and TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional.

In 2001, he joined Bartlett Tree Experts as a climber; and in 2003, the company promoted him to arborist representative, providing tree and shrub care services to clients in the Richmond, Va., area. He was an integral part of the establishment of Bartlett’s Fredericksburg, Va., office and was promoted to assistant division manager in 2013. He also helped open two new branches in Knoxville and Chattanooga, Tenn.

The company also promoted Jack Ingram to division manager, overseeing the company’s operations in central New England.

Ingram joined Bartlett in 2010 as a field arborist and plant health care specialist. He worked for Bartlett during the summer as he earned his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University.

Bartlett promoted Ingram to arborist representative at the company’s Beverly Farms, Mass., branch in 2014; and in 2015, he was promoted to local manager.

In his new role, he will oversee operations in central New England, including offices in Waltham, Ashland, Auburn, Hanover, Beverly Farms and Billerica, Mass.

He earned professional credentials as an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA), ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist (RCA), Massachusetts Certified Arborist, and TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional.

Bartlett made more moves and promoted Gary Nedorostek to division manager. He will oversee the company’s operations in northern New England.

Nedorostek holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and joined Bartlett Tree Experts in 2001 with the acquisition of his business in Simsbury, Conn. After serving as an arborist representative and local manager for more than a decade, the company promoted him to assistant division manager of the New England division in 2013, where he assisted in developing the company’s operations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island.

In his new role, Bartlett said he will grow the company’s New England operations including Hooksett and Wolfeboro, N.H.; Mount Desert Island and Portland, Maine; and Manchester and White River Junction, Vt.

Nedorostek is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA), ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP), Connecticut Licensed Arborist and Massachusetts Certified Arborist.

The company also promoted David Chalker to division manager, overseeing the company’s operations in southern New England, spanning from Cape Cod to Rhode Island.

He joined Bartlett Tree Experts in 1998 after working in the nursery industry. For more than 25 years, he held positions as a ground person, plant health care specialist, climber, crew leader, arborist representative and local manager of Bartlett’s Osterville, Mass., office.

He will oversee operations in Seekonk, Osterville and Nantucket, Mass.

Yardnique adds to its team

Yardnique, No. 25 on the 2023 LM150 list, added Eric Hayes as a business developer in Greensboro, N.C. Hays has more than 20 years of sales and executive leadership experience and managed relationships with key retailers, agriculture companies and technology companies. He graduated from East Carolina University and is a licensed chaplain.

The company also promoted Bobby Harmon to national accounts director. He joined the company in 2021.

SingleOps appoints new CEO

SingleOps, an all-in-one business software for the green industry, appointed Mark Sedgley as chief executive officer. Sedgley brings more than two decades of experience in sales, marketing and operations, including a decade leading innovative software companies. Sean McCormick, co-founder, will remain on SingleOps’ board of directors.

Prior to joining SingleOps, Sedgley served as CEO of Traxero, a software provider powering towing and roadside services businesses. Sedgley’s senior leadership experience also includes nearly 10 years leading MemberClicks, a vertical software business that empowers nonprofits and associations. Under Sedgley’s guidance, MemberClicks grew from an early-stage startup and was acquired in 2020 by Personify, a professional services technology platform, where he served as chief revenue officer following the acquisition.

“The promise SingleOps has shown since its founding has always intrigued me, and Sean’s vision, leadership and impact to this point have been key to the company’s sustained success,” Sedgley said.

Ruppert promotes Mike Monde

Ruppert Landscape, No. 13 on the 2023 LM150 list, promoted Mike Monde to vice president of people and culture. In this role, he provides day-to-day leadership of the organization’s human resources, public relations and training departments and will help the company remain focused on the team, values and culture as it grows.

Ruppert said Monde will play a pivotal role in supporting its integration initiatives as new partner companies join the organization.

Mike has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the green industry and has served in numerous positions during his 23 years at Ruppert, both in operations and as part of the corporate team, most recently as director of training and culture.

McCullough Landscape Architecture adds to its team

McCullough Landscape Architecture, an urban design firm, added Kira Becker as an associate landscape designer to its Los Angeles team Olivia Wax as a junior associate, Bianca Zeto as project accountant, Lindsey Bonjean as office administrator and Haya Abboodi as an intern in its San Diego office.

Becker is a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles’ Landscape Architecture Extension program, holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Southern Methodist University, and is an ASLA Honor Award Recipient. Her portfolio includes projects in sectors such as residential, commercial, and multifamily projects around Southern California, focused on Los Angeles-based regional projects.

Senix adds to team

Senix Tools recently added seven new members to its North American team, headquartered in Huntersville, N.C.

The newest additions include:

  • Larysa Gruner as director of e-commerce. Gruner has more than 20 years in sales and marketing and comes to Senix most recently from the furniture industry, where she drove significant growth for several leading business-to-business and business-to-consumer legacy brands.
  • Michael Smiley as e-commerce manager. Smiley is a seasoned account manager known for his proficiency in merchandising, global sourcing and e-commerce management. He has more than 10 years of direct industry experience.
  • Spero Lawson as marketing manager. Formerly at Positec Group, Lawson led content and creative direction and supported online sales growth.
  • Chris Dierkes as business development manager for dealers. Dierkes joins Senix after four years as a regional sales manager for an OEM.
  • Brian Stephenson as business development manager for retail. Stephenson has more than 18 years of industry experience, including several business development roles.
  • Jon Jameison as a product manager. Jameison brings more than five years of experience in the power tools industry, beginning as a field sales rep and later serving the product management team. 
  • Krystal Avis as operations and customer service coordinator. Avis has 15 years of experience in managing Senix distribution centers and servicing in various capacities, including customer service, sales, warehouse and management.
