The Davey Tree Expert Co. announced the promotion of three in its southeast residential/commercial (R/C) services; Chris Heim, operations manager, Southeast operating group; Jamie Blackburn, market manager, southeast operations; Joel Twist, district manager, North Atlanta R/C office.
Heim joined Davey in 1983 as a trimmer trainee in the north Atlanta R/C office. In 1989, Heim was promoted to sales arborist of the Akron R/C office, then in 1993 to assistant district manager of the same office. In 1997, he was promoted to district manager of the north Atlanta R/C office.
Blackburn joined Davey in 2017 when Davey acquired Arborguard Tree Specialists, a Davey company, based in Atlanta.
Twist joined Davey in 2001 as an intern in the Baltimore R/C office. After graduating from Allegany College with an associate degree in forest technology, he joined Davey full-time as a climber and plant health care technician.
Takeuchi names Wenzel southeast RBM
Takeuchi named Eric Wenzel as its new southeast regional business manager (RBM). Wenzel will be responsible for managing all sales activity in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi.
Based in the Savannah, GA area, Wenzel comes to Takeuchi from H&E Equipment Services where he served as a district manager responsible for multiple states. Prior to holding that position, he was a branch manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree from McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas.
Roowala is new System Pavers CTO
System Pavers announced Ahmad Roowala as its new Chief Technology Officer.
Roowala previously served as the CEO of Squigl, an artificial intelligence growth company.
As CTO, Roowala will lead the technology team and additional support teams, including human resources, recruiting and the System Pavers University program. Roowala has a history of bolstering educational initiatives, working globally to support causes such as the Tamani Foundation and Al-Hadi Learning.
DLF hires two to lead seed enhancement and coating strategy

DLF has announced plans for significant investment in its seed enhancement capabilities including a new facility and equipment.

The company also announced the hiring of Brian Jaasko and Robert Keeter to head its seed enhancement and coating strategy.
The duo will help the build and startup of DLF’s first seed enhancement facility to be located near Corvallis, Ore.
“We make this leap forward with great confidence knowing we have Brian and Robert’s experience and leadership,” said Claus Ikjaer, CEO, DLF Pickseed USA. “This allows us to bring an integrated experience to customers and positions us to lead the delivery of seed enhancement technology to the market.”
SLAM adds three to its landscape architecture and planning practice
The landscape architecture and planning practice of SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) welcomed the addition of Cynthia “Cyndy” Reynolds, landscape architect, ASLA, Keith Whipple, PLA, landscape practice leader, Orlando and Henry Withers, ASLA, senior landscape architect, to its firm.

Reynolds is a landscape architect responsible for developing the design and documentation of projects. She brings more than 10 years of experience supp¬orting multidisciplinary teams in corporate, municipal, and residential landscape architecture, where she applied her management, design, and technical skills to projects.
Whipple is a landscape practice leader for the Orlando office of SLAM. Whipple will leverage his recognized creativity and a high degree of technical skill to provide a full scope of services from planning, design and illustration to the implementation and delivery of complex and detailed developments.
Withers is a senior landscape architect. His focus at SLAM is on-site planning, landscape architectural design services, as well as managing the regulatory requirements and permitting, LID / LEED compliance as well as bidding and construction administration for corporate, educational and municipal clients.
