
The Harvest Group‘s head harvester Steve Cesare was selected to present his work at the 35th Business & Economics Society International Conference in Vienna, Austria.
The conference, which features delegates from more than 30 countries, spotlights academicians and practitioners and provides a forum to present their research findings to the international business community.
Cesare’s presentation and message to business owners and managers focused on how owners and management can avoid becoming immersed in management theories that are too academic, cluttered, bureaucratic or impractical to incorporated into an existing organization. In his presentation, Cesare instructed delegates to focus on a “Triple A” when they are required to make a decision: alignment, achievement and accountability.
Turf Masters Lawn Care hired Jim Battel as COO. Battel brings over 41 years of lawn care experience with a demonstrated track record of quality service operations, generating customer growth and increasing retention and satisfaction.
Battel began his career with TruGreen/Chemlawn and has since held service manager and director positions at TruGreen, Scotts Miracle-Gro and Centex HomeTeam Services.
With the addition of Battel, current COO Brian Butler, will assume the role of president. As president, Butler will provide strategic leadership to reach the company’s goals. Working closely with CEO Andy Kadrich, Battel and other members of the executive leadership team, he will be responsible for establishing long-term goals and strategies, planning for implementation and then executing and evaluating.
Matt Leiter has been promoted from director to vice president of operations. He has more than 25 year of experience in the lawn care industry. Leiter has held various positions at Turf Masters since joining the team in 2005. As vice president of operations, Leiter will be responsible for operations management training, product procurement, company reporting, operating systems training and improvements and IT infrastructure.
Anuvia Plant Nutrients recently named Chris Larson senior vice president, Operations and Research & Development and Don Warren vice president, Supply Chain. Larson comes with a track record for quality, development and high-level experience having led teams in multimillion-dollar manufacturing facilities, creating state of the art processes and establishing clear pathways to success. Warren brings his ability to lead integrated global supply chain teams within diverse manufacturing facilities.
Most recently, Larson worked for UPL as global head of Formulation Manufacturing. Prior to UPL, he served as vice president of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations for Arysta LifeScience where he was responsible for global manufacturing, supply chain and formulation development laboratories. He has also held managerial supply chain positions at L’Oreal USA, The Dow Chemical Company and Angus Chemical Company.
Warren also comes from a nine-year tenure at Arysta LifeScience where he worked as head of Supply Chain for North America, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that role, he was strategic sourcing lead. Warren’s previous experience includes director positions at Reichhold and Ashland Chemical Company.
Profile Products hired Nicole Smith as marketing and communications manager. Smith will support each of the Profile business units in program development, strategic execution of marketing initiatives and project management.
Smith has more than 10 years of professional writing, editing and marketing experience. She has held marketing positions with the American Planning Association and Best Money Moves, a weekly financial publication.
Kristin Nikodemski has been promoted to marketing manager for Arborjet. She joined Arborjet in 2014 as a product marketing manager, bringing with her four years of green industry brand support and development. Nikodemski will oversee and manage all messaging, branding, advertising, strategy and development of new and existing products, while continuing to support the needs of the national sales team. In addition, she manages Arborjet’s horticulture website TheDirtOnDirt.com.
Cara Markiewicz joined Arborjet’s marketing team as senior digital marketing and design specialist. Her responsibilities include developing targeted email campaigns, optimizing website content and supporting lead generation.
Allison Keir started at Arborjet in the fall of 2018, and fills the crucial role of Media Marketing Specialist, managing all online social media channels for both Arborjet and The Dirt on Dirt. With a strong background in film, Keir also handles all video production for the marketing and research department.
Arborjet has created a new role at the company — customer success manager, filled by Zac Purinton, formerly inside sales and technical support representative. Purinton started at the company in 2016. He will now take on the charge of all customer interaction. His responsibilities include managing and fielding customer technical product questions and AP/AR procedures. Purinton will assist in marketing, trade show management, and sales to support all national technical team members.
Jay Sigman will now fill the role of technical support and inside sales. He will be assisting with technical calls, equipment repair and Arborjet’s Winter Webinar series to educate the industry on Arborjet’s products and processes.
Janice Robichaud who will handle trade show coordination, including sponsorships, order entry and processing, customer service, print advertisements, and overall marketing support. She has marketing and business development experience across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing in the fields of electronics and environmental science.
