Penn State Extension is set to host a workshop that will offer pesticide recertification credits for landscape professionals, horticultural insights and networking opportunities.

“Turf and Ornamentals School” is a one-day workshop for turf and landscape professionals, arborists, grounds managers, school employees and municipal/county employees. In the morning, participants can choose a two-hour turf pest walk or a landscape pest walk.

Sessions will follow on plant pest identification, plant damage symptoms identification, chemical and nonchemical options and pesticide application safety.

Pesticide recertification credits are available in the following categories: core, private, 06, 07, 10, 18 and 23. Certified arborists can earn continuing education units from the International Society of Arboriculture.

The $120 registration fee includes lunch. “Turf and Ornamentals School” is slated for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 9, at Millersville University.
