Oregon intros blower, 2 new chainsaws

|

Oregon added three new products to its outdoor power equipment line: the BL300 blower, CS300 cordless chainsaw and CS1500 corded chainsaw, each of which was featured at GIE+Expo.

“The new additions of a blower and more powerful chainsaw to our popular 40V MAX Cordless Tool System offer professionals new tool options for getting work done faster and more efficiently, minus hassles like fuel mixing, emissions and noise,” said Michael Moriarty, senior product line manager. “Our new corded chainsaw is an excellent option for professionals looking for additional bar length with the added convenience of built-in PowerSharp, which sharpens a dull chain in as little as three seconds.”

The BL300 blower, a battery-powered product, features a variable speed trigger and Turbo button so the user can determine the proper airflow for the job. On Turbo, the BL300 provides 495 CFM at 132 mph. On high, the BL300 offers 394 CFM at 105 mph. It also has a bystander decibel rating of less than 65db.

The company re-engineered its cordless chainsaw to deliver 40 percent more power than its predecessor. The CS300 is equipped with on-tool PowerSharp technology, a 16-inch bar, tool-less tensioning and a brushless motor.

The 15-amp CS1500 chainsaw is the only self-sharpening corded electric saw on the market, thanks to its red PowerSharp lever, according to Oregon. It comes equipped with an 18-inch reduced kickback guide bar and chain.

The CS1500 chainsaw will be available for purchase this fall, while the BL300 blower and CS300 chainsaw will be available in early 2015.

“Oregon has a long legacy of developing innovative, high-performing products for forestry and landscaping professionals,” Moriarty said. “Our new BL300, CS300 and CS1500 round out an already robust line of outdoor power tools dedicated to supporting professionals day in and day out who are looking for alternatives to gas-powered products.”
