With winter approaching quickly, managing snowfall and icy surfaces in the freezing temperatures is never enjoyable to do unprepared. And as November rears its ugly head (with December not far behind), now is the time for landscapers to be thinking about the tools they’re taking with them as they brace for the upcoming winter.

Three new options that are now available to help include:

Fisher Storm Boxx HX Hydraulic-Wing Pusher Plow

From scooping and stacking to windrowing and plowing along curbs or in wide open spaces, the Fisher Storm Boxx HX Pusher Plow aims to provide efficiency and adaptability. Its hydraulic, independently controlled wings provide multiple configurations within a 180-degree range of motion. The terrain response advanced cutting edge (TRACE) provides a cleaner scrape of the plowable surface on even the most challenging properties, according to the company. Scoop and stack heavy loads or maneuver through crowded lots in box plow mode, then expand all the way to full straight blade mode to gain an extra six feet of width for plowing large, wide open spaces.

SnowEx Renegade Poly Hopper Spreaders

The new SnowEx Renegade poly hopper spreaders, available in 1.5 and 2.2 cubic yard sizes, are specifically built to increase efficiency in controlling ice. The two different designs have the Helixx shaftless auger delivery system used for precise rock salt application and the pintle chain material delivery system for heavy materials like sand and salt/sand mix. Renegade poly hopper spreaders feature an extended chute design that promotes better material flow and reduces leakage, and the interlocking lid keeps moisture out of the hopper to prevent clumping, according to the company. Plus, the Triple Threat pre-wet and direct liquid application accessory for the ability to spread, pre-wet, or spray all with one hopper spreader.

Western Pro-Plow 3 Straight Blade Plow

The new Western Pro-Plow 3 Straight Blade snowplow is a professional-grade straight blade with a 70-degree attack angle designed to efficiently clear residential driveways and parking lots. According to the company, it’s simple to operate, easy to maintain and comes equipped with a high-carbon steel cutting edge to reduce wear and extend the life of the blade. Options available to customers include the Ultrafinish powder coat surface or stainless steel option, which is the first ever stainless steel straight blade offered by Western Products. Featuring the exclusive Western Power Bar, high-strength steel base channel and eight vertical ribs for improved structural reinforcement, the Pro-Plow 3 was designed with the strength and rigidity needed to eliminate blade twisting and handle blade tripping.
