Netafim USA partners with The Gardener Guy

Netafim USA partnered with The Gardener Guy Paul James, former host of HGTV’s Gardening by the Yard, to produce a series of videos to educate homeowners about the benefits of drip irrigation, the company said.

“The more I travel the country and talk to people about their lawn and gardens, the more I see that many common problems such as water waste, disease and pests are the result of using sprinklers in areas better suited for drip,” said James. “Previously used primarily in non-turf areas, drip irrigation is now being used as an extremely efficient way to water grassy areas by using drip tubing that is specially designed to be used below the lawn’s surface. Subsurface drip irrigation (driplines buried below the surface) reduces water use by up to 70 percent when compared to sprinklers, making it very difficult to justify the continued use of antiquated water-wasting sprinklers.”

Available at NetafimUSA.com/savewater, the short videos feature James explaining how homeowners can reduce their outdoor water use by converting areas watered by sprinklers to drip irrigation zones.

The purpose is to provide information on the process of converting to drip irrigation, answer common questions surrounding the tactic and dispel misconceptions about installation, maintenance and the efficiency of drip systems, the company said.

They are designed to be “primers for homeowners,” not “step-by-step installation guides,” according to Mauricio Troche, director of landscape sales and marketing at Netafim USA.
