
The North Carolina Nursery & Landscape Association (NCNLA) presented several awards during Green & Growin’ 16.
First, the NCNLA named two green industry businesses winners of the 2015 Excellence in the Landscape Awards. These awards are designed to recognize landscape professionals who execute quality and sustainable landscape projects.
The winners of the 2015 NCNLA Excellence in the Landscape Awards are:
Receiving a Distinction Award:
Appalachian Naturescapes, Morganton, N.C.
Landscape Installation- residential
Receiving the Grand Award and Best in Show:
Greenleaf Services, Linville, N.C.
Design/Build- residential
The NCNLA also awarded seven landscape industry professionals the 2015 NCNLA Industry Awards.
The winners of the Industry Awards are:

Bill Wilder Outstanding Young Nursery Professional Award: John Clark of Pro Green, in Morganton, N.C.
Libby Wilder Award: Donna Williams of Worthington Farms, Greenville, N.C.
Kim Powell Outstanding Contribution to the Horticulture Industry: Barb Fair Phd., North Carolina State University
Oakland Award: Connie Hoyes of Southern Garden, Apex, N.C.
Grower of the Year: Danny and Peggy VanDevender of Jericho Farms, Pikeville, N.C.
D.S. Copeland Award: Dennis Niemeyer of Carlton Plants, Dayton, Ore.
NCNLA Honorary Member: Doug Clark of C&G Nursery, Newland, N.C.
In addition to the numerous awards presented, the NCNLA elected three industry professionals to serve three-year terms on the NCNLA board of directors.
The new directors are:
- Hugh Crump, president, Greenline Design Inc., Charlotte, N.C.
- Lynn McCleneghen, landscape designer, Parker Landscape Services, Apex, N.C.
- Chris Mitchell, account manager, Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply, Garner, N.C.
