Morbark debuted its line of Eeger Beever brush chippers, as well as the Rayco C120R Forestry Mulcher and AT75 Aerial Trimmer.
“At Morbark, we are focused on the customers’ needs and feedback and working that feedback into continuous improvement of our equipment,” said Casey Gross, Morbark’s director of tree care products. “Therefore, we’re always looking at ease of operation, increasing productivity and reducing downtime.”
The Eeger Beever brush chipper lineup includes the 812, 1215, 1415, 1418, 1621, 1821, 1922, 2131 and 2230 models, ranging in horsepower from 35 to 400 hp.
All models feature large infeed and throat openings, low-profile LED tail lights on the infeed, heavy-duty housing and large diameter chipping drums. The models include a staggered-knife drum design with an internal baffle assembly and a chambered air impeller system that increases chip velocity and reduces dust and material blowback out the infeed, according to the company.
Most of the chippers in the line (excluding the 812 and 1415) include the TorqMax feed system, which can generate from 2,000 to 10,000 foot-pounds of material pulling force. The infeed design allows the units to change from a rigid tray to a folding tray and ensures the operator is never over center while feeding the machine.
The 5,000-pound winch package is optional on models 1415 and larger and includes a 10-foot chafe guard. With the exception of the 2230, the models can be made with gasoline/petrol engines. Units with 3-liter gas engines have the iQ-View Smart Controller, a smart display and controller that presents engine and machine parameters and controls the chipper’s autofeed function.
Forestry mulcher
The Rayco C120R Forestry Mulcher rides on a 17.7-inch wide steel-embedded rubber track. It includes a 120-hp Cat diesel engine; Rayco’s Super Flow, closed-loop hydrostatic system; a 12,000-pound capacity hydraulic rear winch; and Rayco’s exclusive elevated cooling design, which places engine radiators in both the rear of the engine compartment and in the limbriser.
The cab is certified ROPS/OPS/FOPS with escape hatches in the roof and rear window, and the hydraulic cab tilt allows for easy access to critical components.
The C120 can be outfitted with either the Predator Mulcher Head (standard, model FM120-6R) with a 71.5-inch cutting width and 36 carbide-tipped, reversible cutter teeth or the Denis CIMAF Mulcher Head (optional, model FM120-6C) with a 74-inch cutting width and 27 planar cutter teeth.
Aerial Trimmer
The compact AT75 has a short carrier length, tight turning radius and three steering modes—front axle, four-wheel and crab steer—for maneuverability on narrow right of ways.
Machine leveling allows the machine to tilt up to 15 degrees while maintaining a low center of gravity for work on sloped surfaces. The AT75 has a trim height of 75 feet with a 24-inch saw blade. The boom also can rotate up to 42 degrees clockwise and 47 degrees counterclockwise so the operator can make angled cuts quickly and safely, without tilting the cab.
The operator cabin includes a heated high-backed seat featuring air suspension. The nonarticulated carrier design utilizes a steering wheel and foot controls, and rear and side-view cameras provide full visibility.
