No trip to GIE+Expo should be all work and no play. Here are five great Louisville attractions for trade show goers.
1. Churchill Downs
If you’re sticking around for the weekend, you can catch opening day of the Fall Meet on Sunday, Oct. 28. Otherwise, check out the Kentucky Derby Museum, located at Gate 1 of Churchill Downs. Explore the museum’s exhibits and be sure not to miss “The Greatest Race,” a movie about the Derby experience in a 360-degree theatre.

3. Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
Sports fans will enjoy the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory to learn about the world-famous bat and the family-owned company that’s created it for more than 125 years.
4. Muhammad Ali Center
Guided by Muhammad Ali’s six core principles (confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, respect and spirituality), the Muhammad Ali Center features an interactive museum that encourages attendees to pursue greatness in their own lives, communities and countries.
5. Urban Bourbon Trail
As you socialize your way through Louisville, you might like to participate in the Urban Bourbon Trail. Collect six stamps in your passport (which you can pick up at the Visitors Center at 4th and Jefferson Streets downtown) or via the iPhone or Android app and you earn the rank of official Bourbon Country Citizen. You’ll be awarded a special Urban Bourbon Trailblazer t-shirt and official Citizen of Bourbon Country certificate. It’s free to participate (other than your purchases) and there’s no time limit to complete it.
