Pro Turf Lawn Service, based in Belton, Mo., will pay a $10,000 fine under the Kansas No-Call Act.
The fine spurs out of complaints from four Johnson County residents to the Kansas attorney general’s office in October 2012 regarding the company calling to solicit the sale of lawn and landscaping products and services, despite the consumers being on the Do Not Call list.
“Companies doing business in Kansas must respect Kansas laws,” said Derek Schmidt, Kansas attorney general. “Consumers who have taken the time to register their phone numbers on the Do Not Call list have an expectation that their privacy will be respected.”
