Meyer Products created a new position, director of sales—independent retail group, which was filled by Darren Docherty.
Docherty joins Meyer after a 12-year stint at John Deere, where he worked in dealer account management, sales management, commercial sales, retail marketing and various dealer programs.
His responsibilities at Meyer will focus on sales management of the core commercial business, including management of field sales as well as daily management of dealer/distributor relationships. The director of sales—independent retail group position was formed as part of Meyer’s strategic focus to grow sales in the snow and ice control market, said President Andy Outcalt.
“The addition of an established dealer-distributor industry veteran to our management team is an exciting step as we move forward and grow as a brand,” Outcalt said. “This new position will allow us to focus on and grow our core commercial business while allocating resources to develop new products, markets and services that our customers demand for the future.”
Docherty added: “I’m very excited to join the Meyer team. The brand is well established and it’s my goal to continue to broaden the company’s position in North America. I look forward to enhancing Meyer’s already successful business model with my knowledge and background.”
