Y.O.U. Club to launch in North America

Yanmar unveiled the upcoming launch of the Y.O.U. Club in North America — a new initiative designed to recognize and engage the operators and owners at the heart of the compact equipment industry. Inspired by Yanmar CE’s brand tagline, “Building with You,” the Y.O.U. Club (short for Yanmar Operators United) is a digital platform and celebration of operator skill, community and shared passion, brought to life both online and in person.

The Y.O.U. Club was created to showcase the talent, dedication and real-world expertise of equipment operators. There’s no requirement to be a Yanmar owner or operator.

“This is more than just a website — it’s a community hub,” said Elsie De Nys, global brand and CSR manager. “The Y.O.U. Club offers interactive content and a space for users to share stories, challenge themselves and connect.”

The Y.O.U. Club features two main components:

A digital platform for connection and collaboration

The Y.O.U. Club website offers compact equipment enthusiasts a space to connect, compete and learn. Open to all — regardless of brand — the platform allows users to share stories, sharpen skills and stay informed through a variety of engaging content types:

  • Events – Updates on upcoming Yanmar events across North America
  • Quizzes – Interactive knowledge challenges to entertain and educate
  • Surveys – Opportunities to provide feedback and influence future products
  • Articles – Expert tips, educational resources and industry insights
  • Projects – User-submitted worksite stories and machine photo galleries
  • Challenges – Online activities designed to test knowledge and skill

On-site operator challenges at events

The Y.O.U. Club also features live competitions at major trade shows and Yanmar dealer events. In these timed, skill-based games, operators enter the designated Y.O.U. Club zone and compete using Yanmar mini excavators or compact track loaders testing speed, control and accuracy under pressure.

While the fastest operators receive prizes, the greater goal is to build pride, foster camaraderie and celebrate the everyday excellence of equipment users.

Yanmar launches full line of compact equipment

With Yanmar’s official launch of its compact equipment line, customers can now find the company’s mini excavators, compact track and wheel loaders and more at dealer lots across North America. The launch is made possible by a 50-percent increase in North American production capacity over the last several years, including a 32,000-square-foot facility expansion in Yanmar CE North America’s Grand Rapids, Minn., headquarters that allowed for a new powder coating paint system, extended assembly line and quality enhancements such as laser cutting tools, robotic welding and more.

Yanmar CE North America’s new president, Anna Christine Sgro, says the introduction is a milestone that marks a significant step towards the company’s mission to become a global leader in the compact equipment market.

“This full range of equipment is built on trust developed over Yanmar’s 100 years as a company, 55 of those in compact equipment,” Sgro said. “Our dealers, customers and partners rely on us to deliver machines that are not only dependable but also help them grow their businesses. It’s part of our mission to continue building success and a richer experience for our stakeholders and customers.”

Compact Track Loaders (CTLs)

Yanmar CE finalized its launch of compact track loaders in 2024 with the TL65RS-1C, TL75VS-1C, TL80VS-1C and TL100VS. The loaders are construction-grade machines featuring the company’s performance, efficiency, technology and reliability standards. Ranging from 67 to 103.5 horsepower, the compact track loaders can cover a wide range of customer needs. They round out Yanmar’s compact equipment lineup already made up of mini excavators, compact wheel loaders and tracked carriers.

“These compact track loaders create a full line of compact equipment, and we are excited to bring more value to the market with the reliable products we’re known for,” said Peter Ovrebo, director of product management, Yanmar CE North America. “Customers love our mini excavators for their quality construction and trusted performance in any conditions and now those benefits will be available in our compact track loaders.”

All of Yanmar’s compact track loaders focused on extra durability for the construction, landscaping and rental industries, and the Tier 4 Final Yanmar diesel engines offer an additional performance boost, according to the company. The operator experience is a key focus in the machines with 360-degree visibility and a standard suspended seat for enhanced comfort. A removable roof hatch escape offers an optimized safety feature for operators.

The models also include several optional efficiency-enhancing features to improve the operator experience and overall productivity. These include a work tool positioner, return-to-position technology, self-leveling, ride control and auto two-speed capabilities.

The loaders also incorporate Yanmar’s optional SmartAssist telematics from the company’s mini excavator line. Features range from error detection and notification to real-time operational status updates and daily work reports. SmartAssist also includes integrated theft protection, allowing the machine’s owner to set a range from a specific location and trigger an alert if that range is exceeded. A new touchscreen 7-inch color display also comes standard with each of the compact track loaders for improved convenience on the jobsite.

Each machine features a two-year/2,000-hour warranty and a suspended undercarriage with a pivot link system at the rear axle for added resistance to tough jobs. This linkage technology uses a spring load to reduce oscillation and stabilize the machine, helping to improve material retention and ride quality.

ViO80 and SV100 mini excavators

The company also introduced new generation ViO80 and SV100 mini excavators in late 2023. The ViO80-7 and SV100-7 feature significant improvements to hydraulic efficiency, cab comfort and ease of maintenance. The models are the largest in Yanmar’s mini excavator line and are designed for work in utility, construction, demolition and landscaping applications.

“These machines are entirely redesigned with the operator and service departments in mind,” said Ovrebo. “From more comfort and enhanced ergonomics to an open hood system that is incredibly efficient to work on, we’re confident operators will be thrilled with the ViO80-7 and SV100-7’s performance and overall experience.”

Operators will see the biggest differences from the previous models in the newly designed cabins. Each is built for comfort and operator experience, with upgraded space in each that includes a new suspension seat, more foot space, ergonomic foot pedals and a wider cabin for easier entry and exit. Operators can survey the worksite more easily with increased cab glass area. Hot days are more tolerable with the included automatic air-conditioning, and the cab is quieter with additional USB ports that allow for convenient phone charging.

The 18,409-pound ViO80-7 features 18 percent more power over its predecessor with its 67-horsepower Yanmar Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The 21,671-pound SV100-7 includes a powerful 72-horsepower Yanmar Tier 4 Final diesel engine. Both machines provide operators with increased attachment performance with 20 percent more PTO flow rate. The ViO80-7 achieves a maximum dig depth of 14 feet, 3 inches while the SV100-7 can reach 14 feet, 11 inches.

The ViO80-7 features Yanmar’s signature zero tail-swing, and the SV100-7 includes an ultra-tight tail-swing. The zero tail-swing design allows the excavator to rotate next to a structure with less risk of hitting it. The larger SV100-7’s ultra-tight tail swing has very little overhang. Both designs allow efficient work in tight jobsites that may be difficult for larger equipment.

Improved engine output and hydraulics also allow for more productivity and greater attachment performance compared to past models. Those same improvements also allow for a 15 percent increase in work speed, 13 percent lower fuel consumption rate and 25 percent increase in travel speed on slope.

Yanmar’s ViO80-7 and SV100-7 include several new technologies over previous models. Operators can see relevant machine information and options at a glance on the new 7-inch color LCD display. Options include PTO flow rate adjustment, Auto-Decel mode, a new passcode lockout feature and more.

The mini excavators include Yanmar’s SmartAssist Remote telematics system, similar to the compact track loaders. Yanmar offers a four-year/4,000-hour bucket-to-counterweight warranty.

V7 compact wheel loader

Yanmar’s 47.6-horsepower V7 compact wheel loader — introduced to the North American market in December 2023 — fills the gap in the Yanmar wheel loader line between the V4-7 and the V8. The 9,370-pound machine features a low operating weight, comfortable cab area and high bucket capacity, according to the company. Its compact design, improved controls and high travel speeds maximize performance and efficiency for operators in landscaping, rental, municipalities, snow removal and other applications.

“The V7 is perfect for operators looking for a piece of equipment with leading performance while being easy to transport,” said Frank Gangi, product manager – CWL and attachments for Yanmar Compact Equipment North America. “An ergonomic cab, low center of gravity, excellent visibility and high travel speeds all lead to a wheel loader that improves jobsite performance while keeping the operator comfortable and productive.”

Yanmar Compact Equipment’s V7 features a 0.92 cubic yardbucket capacity for its weight, meaning fewer trips to the pile. An optional light material bucket brings that bucket capacity to more than a full cubic yard with each scoop, further improving productivity. The compact wheel loader also includes the Tier 4 Final Yanmar engine, allowing for a lifting capacity of 7,981 pound-force.

The V7 features plus or minus 40 degrees of articulation and plus or minus 10 degrees of oscillation. The machine includes a newly designed articulation oscillation joint allowing oscillation in the center of the wheel loader instead of the rear. This maximizes ground contact with all four wheels for increased tractive force.

The model features a comfortable cab and excellent all-around visibility in an effort to make long workdays easier, according to Yanmar. The enclosed cab configuration features two steel frame doors and a standard front sun blind to reduce glare. Operators can enjoy the extra visibility provided by the steel frame doors as well as the convenience and extra ventilation that comes from having doors on both sides of the cab. The V7’s high-backed seat is heated and includes ergonomic armrests and mechanical suspension. Radio with Bluetooth provides operators with individualized entertainment. Additionally, the wheel loader improves safety and convenience with a highly visible, fully integrated and removable rotating beacon.

Ergonomic joystick controls simplify machine operation. Creep mode allows for precise attachment control while Automatic Ride Control with Limited Slip Differential improves convenience and efficiency. Operators can easily access relevant machine information and options via a color display.

Yanmar offers the V7 in canopy and enclosed cab with heat and A/C configurations, and operators can move around the jobsite faster using the machine’s 18.6 mph travel speed.

Yanmar’s V7 was designed to be highly maneuverable and easy to transport, according to the company. The machine’s center articulation and oscillation joint make it possible for the wheel loader to achieve a low 98.4-inch height and an even lower center of gravity, meaning less risk of clearance issues, the ability to fit into shipping containers and better maneuverability on tight jobsites. It is backed up with a three-year/3,000-hour warranty.
