Makita released two new 40-volt max XGT cutting and trimming solutions for landscapers with the new 40-volt max XGT Brush Cutter and 18-inch High Torque String Trimmer.
“Makita is a leader in cordless outdoor power equipment and the recent release of both the 18inch Dual Rotation, High Torque String Trimmer and Brush Cutter gives users more options to ditch gas,” said Nicole Tougas, product manager, outdoor power equipment, Makita. “Both models are a true gas replacement, giving users the power of a 35cc equivalent and add to the expanding lineup of 40-Volt XGT equipment and tools.”
Brush Cutter
The brush cutter has a bike-handle design for improved grip and a more ergonomic working position and includes a 10-inch steel four-tooth brush cutter blade for cutting grasses, shrubs and underwood. The Brush Cutter can also accept a trimmer head with an 18-inch cutting swath for increased productivity (trimmer head not included).
It has a steel driveshaft for lower vibration and longer equipment life. For cutting dense material, the high torque mode is engineered for constant speed and efficient cutting. The wide brush cutter debris shield is designed for use with nylon trimmer heads or metal brush cutter blades and a high torque boost mode for cutting dense material.
18-inch dual rotation, High Torque String Trimmer
The 18-inch dual rotation, High Torque String Trimmer features a dual rotation feature that rotates the trimmer head clockwise or counterclockwise based on user preference
The String Trimmer includes high torque gear ratios designed to power through overgrown grass. It features a cruise control lever with a variable speed trigger for controlled cutting speed and a high torque boost mode for cutting dense material. Additionally, a steel-drive shaft offers users less vibration and longer equipment life, according to the company. The string trimmer features a rapid load bump and a feed trimmer head line loads in seconds with three easy steps: align, feed and twist.
A high visibility string trimmer guard for improved cutting visibility, an adjustable loop handle for operator comfort, and a 5-inch high-capacity trimmer head pre-loaded with a .105-inch trimmer line.
