Kurtz Bros., a landscape supply and delivery company, held its spring seminar on March 9 at its headquarters in Independence, Ohio.

The seminar, which is held twice a year — once in fall, once in spring — gives suppliers a chance to speak with contractors about their products and address any questions they have. It also gives the team at Kurtz Bros. a chance to talk to customers about how the past winter went and what the spring and summer ahead might look like.

According to Peter Zappola, director of sales at Kurtz Bros., weather conditions this year were much more conducive to a better start to the landscaping season than last year. The feedback from customers indicates this is going to be a very strong year for the industry, he added.

This year, four suppliers — Unilock, A.M. Leonard, Belgard and Oberfields  — addressed a group of about 40 contractors. The presentation topics included each company’s latest product lines, how to determine the best hand tool to use for an application and tools for calculating the correct amount of hardscape materials to order for a project.

The fall seminar will be held in November and will offer a retrospective on the year and give attendees a chance to discuss what they can do better the next year.
