Kubota Tractor presented an addition to its RTV-X Series line, three new commercial walk-behind gas-powered mowers and the ZB Series line of zero-turn diesel-powered mowers.
RTV-X Series
The new RTV-X1140 features a Kubota K-Vertible cargo conversion system, which transforms the vehicle from two passengers and a large cargo bed to four passengers and a cargo bed.
“The RTV-X1140 has a unique ROPS design that makes it easy to convert from crew to cargo,” said Eric Goins, Kubota RTV product manager. “With the RTV-X1140, Kubota offers industry-leading cargo capacity and comfortable seating for four adults in three simple steps—when you need to move your crew, swing in the cargo bed sides, fold the bed up, and flip down the rear seat—conversion is quickly and easily performed by just one person.”
The RTV-X1140 comes standard with hydraulic dump bed with 19.1 cubic feet/9.9 cubic feet capacity, two-seat and four-seat configuration, respectively. It’s powered by a 24.8 hp Kubota liquid-cooled diesel engine, and it has a variable hydraulic transmission. The RTV-X1140 offers 10.8 inches of suspension travel and front and rear independent suspension.
Also introduced at GIE+EXPO, Kubota’s front four-point PTO K-Connect for the RTV-X1100C transforms it into a snow removal machine with four new snow attachments: a 66-inch Snowblower, a 66-inch Rotary Broom, a 78 inch V-Plow and a 78-inch Straight Blade.
Gas-powered walk-behind mowers
Kubota’s new gas-powered walk-behind mowers include the WG14-36, the WH15-48 and the WHF19-52. A Kawasaki V-twin gasoline engine powers each model with outputs ranging from 14 to 19 horsepower.
“Kubota’s zero-turn mowers and lawn tractors maintain a strong reputation for quality and reliability,” said Tom Vachal, Kubota senior product manager for turf equipment. “Since initiating our alliance with Echo last year for handheld outdoor power equipment, and now with our introduction of commercial walk-behind mowers, we’ve taken steps to become a full-service, one-stop-shop for our turf equipment customers.”
The WG14-36 features a five-speed gear-drive transmission with reverse assist, and the WH15-48 and WHF19-52 use proven Hydro-Gear variable displacement pumps with Parker wheel motors.
All three mowers feature fabricated welded steel decks and are equipped with a 125 ft.-lb. electric clutch and maintenance-free spindles. The WG14-36 utilizes a traditional pistol-grip control, while the larger WH15-48 and WHF19-52 models utilize a twin lever hydro control, similar to those found on zero-turn mowers.
They all have adjustable cutting heights (ranging from 1 3/8 to 4 5/8 inches, depending on model. The 52-inch model, WHF19-52, features a Kawasaki FX engine and a floating deck with a pin-adjustment mechanism.
All three will be available at Kubota dealerships in January.
ZD Series
Kubota also introduced the ZD Series zero-turn diesel-powered mowers—the ZD1000 and the ZD1200—featuring Kubota’s Aerodynamic Cutting System, which provides more efficient use of power resulting in better fuel efficiency and faster cutting performance, according to Kubota.
The mowers are available in four deck widths (48, 54, 60 and 72 inches) and are driven by Kubota diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 19 to 25 horsepower, with hydrostatic transmissions and pivoting front axles.
The ZD1200 comes with a 3.5-inch LCD display screen on which the operator can monitor vehicle functions.
